Email Scam

I know it has been a long time since I made a post on the site but I am hoping that will change in the very near future.  We have had some major changes going on which includes relocating from Florida to California.  My goal is to focus more time on the site in the next coming months but I wanted to alert you about an email I received. Please read below and if this comes to you delete quickly.  This is obviously a scam and it makes me so upset that the world still has people like this in it.  If this is not a scam then I hope to hear from the Marine that sent this to me however I assure you I will not be hearing from this person any time soon.

Dear Friend,

With a very desperate need for assistance, I have summed up courage to contact you.
I am presently in Iraq with the US marine platoon. I found your contact particulars in an Address journal.
I am seeking your assistance to evacuate the sum of $2.7m USD (Two Million Seven hundred Thousand United
States Dollars) to you, as far as I can be assured that it will be safe in your care until I complete my service here.
This is no stolen money, and there are no dangers involved.

SOURCE OF MONEY:

Some money in various currencies was discovered concealed in barrels with piles of weapons and ammunition
at a location near one of Saddam’s old palaces during a rescue operation, and it was agreed by all party present that
the money be shared among us, this was quite an illegal thing to do, but I tell you what? No compensation can make
up for the risks we have taken with our lives in this hell hole. The above figure was given to me as my share,
and to conceal this kind of money became a problem for me, so with the help of a German contact working here,
and his office enjoys some immunity, I was able to get the package out to a safe location entirely out of trouble spot.

He does not know the real contents of the package, and believes that it belongs to an Asian American who died in an air raid,
and before giving up, trusted me to hand over the package to his family. There is a secured way of getting the package
out to a safer country for you to pick up, and i will discuss this with you when I am sure that you are willing to assist me.
One passionate appeal I will make to you is not to discuss this matter with a third party, should you have reasons to
reject this offer. please destroy this mail as any leakage of this information will be too bad for us.

I do not know for how long we will remain here but hopefully before the year runs out or next according to our new
president Senator Barrack Obama, I have survived 2 suicide bomb attacks by the special grace of God,thisand other
reasons I will mention later has prompted me to reach out for help.
Please you can reach me on my personal e-mail address below for more informations.

Before You Go

The elderly parking lot attendant wasn’t in a good mood!

Neither was Sam Bierstock. It was around 1 a.m., and Bierstock, a Delray Beach, Fla. , eye doctor, business consultant, corporate speaker and musician, was bone tired after appearing at an event. He pulled up in his car, and the parking attendant began to speak. “I took two bullets for this country and look what I’m doing,” he said bitterly.

At first, Bierstock didn’t know what to say to the World War II veteran. But he rolled down his window and told the man, “Really, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you.”

Then the old soldier began to cry.  “That really got to me,” Bierstock says.

Cut to today.

Bierstock, 58, and John Melnick, 54, of Pompano Beach – a member of Bierstock’s band, Dr. Sam and the Managed Care Band – have written a song inspired by that old soldier in the airport parking lot. The mournful “Before You Go” does more than salute those who fought in WWII. It encourages people to go out of their way to thank the aging warriors before they die.

“If we had lost that particular war, our whole w ay of life would have been shot,” says Bierstock, who plays harmonica. “The WW II soldiers are now dying at the rate of about 2,000 every day. I thought we needed to thank them.”

GOD BLESS every EVERY veteran…
and THANK you to those of you veterans who may receive this !

The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor

Check out the new page we have added to the site on the sidebar. The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor contacted us and asked if we would not mind putting up a link to them. I spoke to the director and she is very nice and wants to get the word out so we are going to do all we can to help her out.

Update

We are currently looking up more information on Earl B. Rose, Jr. and hopefully we will have more information about him.  Thanks to Matt’s sister for doing all of the digging.  Also I have been contacted by a couple more people and I am waiting on their stories now to be added to the page.  Keep checking back for updates and passing the site along to people that may find it of interest.  I am still waiting to hear back from the news station in Louisiana so maybe can get a little more exposure.  Keep your fingers crossed they decide to do a piece on it.

The site is crossing the country

A friend of mine that I graduated high school with, hi Donovan, has forwarded the interview to one of the local television stations in Louisiana and they seem like they might be interested in getting to word out for us in my hometown.  It would just be amazing to get the story out in Louisiana.  When I graduated high school several of our friends went into the military and a lot of them were sent to Desert Storm back in the 90′s.  I also have an Uncle that has already served in Iraq.

It just amazes me that so many people care so much about the site and want to help get the word out.  Thank you Donovan for taking the time to help with spreading the word, it really means a lot to me.
